How to Measure Your Head and Choose the Right Hat Size
Use a flexible tape measure. If you don’t have one, use a piece of string and measure it afterward. Wrap the tape around your head just above your ears and across the middle of your forehead, fully circling your head. Keep the tape snug, but not tight. Measure exactly where the hat will sit.
If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next size up for comfort. You can also use hat re-sizers (available for £4.95) to fine-tune the fit. These inserts sit inside the inner band and help achieve a more secure feel.

How to Read a Hat Sizing Chart
Hat sizes are typically measured in three systems:
- Imperial (UK/US): Based on head diameter in inches, usually ranging from 6.5 to 8.
- North American: Also uses inches but often differs slightly by 1/8 inch increments.
- European/Metric: Measures head circumference in centimeters, typically from 53 to 65 cm.

What Size Should I Choose for Caps?
For flat caps, we recommend going one size up. A cap should feel comfortable and sit neatly against the back of your head without being too tight.
How to Measure Women’s Hat Size
Use a soft tape measure and wrap it around your head, slightly above your ears and across the center of your forehead. Measure the full circumference in centimeters or inches, then refer to the sizing chart. Many women’s hats include an adjustable band for added comfort.
Average Women’s Hat Size
The average size for women is 57 cm (Medium).
How to Measure Men’s Hat Size
Wrap a tape measure around your head from mid-forehead to just above your ears. Record the circumference and match it to the sizing chart.
Average Men’s Hat Size
The average size for men is 59 cm (Large).
How to Make a Hat Fit Tighter
If your hat feels slightly loose, use a hat filler. These inserts can reduce the size by approximately 1–2 cm for a better fit.
